Uluva Ila – Cabbage Thoran (Methi – Cabbage Thoran)
Ingredients for Uluva Ila – Cabbage Thoran (Methi – Cabbage Thoran):
1. Methi leaf chopped fine – 1 cup
2. Cabbage chopped fine – 2 cups
3. Salt – For taste
Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon
For tempering:
4. Oil – 1 small spoon
5. Mustard, black gram dal – ¼ small spoon each
6. Red chillies – 1
For gravy:
7. Coconut scrapped – 1.5 cups
Chilli powder – 1 small spoon
Cumin seeds – ¼ small spoon
Garlic – 4 cloves
How to prepare Uluva Ila – Cabbage Thoran (Methi – Cabbage Thoran)?
1. Mix together ingredients no: 1, 2 and 3.
2. Heat oil in a pan and sputter mustard, black gram dal and red chillies.
3. Add methi-cabbage mixture to the oil.
4. Sprinkle a little water, close the lid and cook it well.
5. Crush together ingredients no: 7 and add to cooked cabbage-methi mixture.
6. Mix it well and fry till the thoran turns dry.
