Udyan Sagar alias DJ Nucleya – Electronic music producer and Remixer

DJ Nucleya is a Goa-based musician best known as a DJ, Electronic music producer and Remixer. Apart from his independent work as a musician, he has also composed Bollywood music tracks – Let’s Nacho from Kapoor & Sons and Paintra from Mukkabaaz. He is quite popular with his remix albums and owns a successful career as a DJ. He was the co-founder of the music band, Bandish Projekt also. Pragat Pritam in 2009 was his first independent album after taking the stage name Nucleya. Koocha Monster, Bass Rani, Raja Baja, Tota Myna, In My Heart – Remixes, Tamil fever etc are a few more notable works.

DJ Nucleya’s real name is Udyan Sagar. He was born in Agra in 1979 and brought up in Ahmedabad. His father is a great fan of music, and the family played music throughout the day. That’s how Udyan got drawn towards music. It took years of struggle for Udyan Sagar to establish as a musician. Along with Mayur Narvekar and Mehirr Nath Choppra, he co-founded Bandish Projekt, a musical band in 1998. As Ahmedabad is not known as a musical hub, he along with the band members used to host parties at the farm houses of their friends. Later they started during gigs as Bandish Projekt in Mumbai and Delhi. They also distributed their music themselves.

To start a career of his own, he moved out of the band in 2007 and also took a new stage name, DJ Nucleya. He married his girlfriend Smriti Choudhary, a fashion designer in 2008 and has one son. The family is now based in Goa. During his struggling days of three years his wife financially supported the family. After a lot of struggles, he finally got recognition through the singles – Little Loto and Jungle Raja. Bass Rani in 2015 was his first hit album, where he collaborated with many artists.

2. In 2016 he won Best Electronica Single award at Global Indian Music Awards for Little Loto and Jungle Raja, after which he came to prominence.

3. In 2018 he was a celebrity judge for India’s first web reality show, The Remix.

4. He met Mayur Narvekar during their 11th standard classes.

5. He had a live-in relationship with his wife during his college days and they got married in 2008.

6. He, along with his wife own a fashion brand called Pink Soda.

7. Indian streets have inspired him a lot for producing music. He is known for mixing different styles of music.

8. He doesn’t do DJing at parties and concerts, and prefer spending time at home after a show.
