Stuffed Mackerel (Stuffed Ayala)

Ingredients for Stuffed Mackerel (Stuffed Ayala):

1. Mackerel (Ayala) – 5

2. Pepper powder – 1 small spoon

    Ginger – 1 piece

    Green chillies – 6

    Garlic – 1, full

    Tamarind – Gooseberry sized

    Salt – For taste

    Curry leaves – 2 stems

    Turmeric powder – A pinch

    Cumin seeds – A pinch

    Mustard – 1 pinch

3. Coconut oil – A little

How to prepare Stuffed Mackerel (Stuffed Ayala)?

1. Clean fish and keep aside.

2. Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 2.

3. Split the fishes into two. But its ends should not be broken.

4. Fill the masala inside each fish.

5. Gently apply a very thin layer of masala on both sides of fishes. (Only leftover masala stick on to palms is sufficient. Never marinate extra)

6. Allow the fish to rest for one hour.

7. Heat a little in a pan and bring to medium flame.

8. Place the stuffed fish in it and deep fry in medium flame.

9. Flip both sides and cook till both sides turn crispy. Serve hot.
