Sreeram Ramachandran – Malayalam actor of ‘Kasthooriman’ TV series fame

Sreeram Ramachandran is a Malayalam actor associated with different forms of entertainment such as films, TV shows, short films and music videos. He was one among that bunch of young actors including Nivin Pauley, who marked his screen debut with 2010 movie, Malarvady Arts Club directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan. Later he played supporting roles in films such as Thattathin Marayathu, Artist etc. He plays male protagonist in the popular TV show, Kasthooriman since 2017. The show which completed more than 425 episodes made him a household name among Malayalam TV viewers. The sitcom ‘Chumma’ telecasted on Amrita TV, for which he played lead role earned him early recognition.

Sreeram Ramachandran hails from a musical family of Kozhikode. He got his first break to films through 2010 Malayalam film, Malarvadi Arts Club. He played a cameo role of Malavika Wales’s brother’s friend in the movie. When 2000 aspirants attended the film audition, he reached the final 20. Like other newcomers of the movie, Sreeram also established as an actor later. As he got only limited success in films with his brief roles, he shifted to television, and is known for popular shows – Chumma and Kasthooriman. Just Married, Uyare, Orayiram Kinakkalal etc are his film appearances.

1. His father Palai C K Ramachandran is a well-known musician and a direct disciple of legendary Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. He has been conferred with Swamy Tyagaraja Award by Tyagaraja Aradhana Music Festival in 2011.

2. He was doing his final year engineering studies when he got his first break to films. Film auditioning had just started to happen in Malayalam films. By that time he was determined about his profession and after studies he pursued a career in acting.

3. During his college days he has worked as an assistant director in Tamil film industry. Ghajini and Villu are among those films.

4. He was featured in the music video Ninayathe, directed by Ganesh Raj. The song was sung by Vineeth Sreenivasan, with whom he frequently associated with.

5. He played the negative role of lead pair’s common friend in movie, Artist. It was a meaty role he played on screen.

6. He knew his wife Vandhitha since his school days, love happened and they got married. The couple has one daughter.

7. He has been paired with Rebecca Santhosh for the popular show, Kasthooriman and the pair is known as “Jeevya” on social media.
