Rava Idli

 

Ingredients for Rava Idli:

  1. Rava – 2.5 cups
  2. Curd – 1 cup
  3. Salt – as needed
  4. Green chillies – 4
  5. Curry leaves – as required
  6. Bengal gram (Kadala parippu) – 1.5 spoons
  7. Coconut oil – 2 small spoons
  8. Ginger – 1 piece

How to prepare Rava idli?

  1. Add a little water and salt to curd and soak the rava in it for 4 hours.
  2. Finely chop ginger, green chillies and curry leaves and add to the batter.
  3. Sputter mustard seeds and Bengal gram in oil and add to batter.
  4. Now mix the flour well and make rava idli.
  5. You can decorate your rava idli using cashew pieces and scrapped carrot.

Rava Idli (Recipe 2)

Ingredients for Rava Idli (Recipe 2):

1. Roasted semolina (rava) – 1 cup

2. Oil – As required

3. Mustard – 1 small spoon

    Black gram (Urud) dal – 1 small spoon

4. Onion chopped fine – 1

    Ginger chopped fine – ¼ inch piece

    Green chillies chopped fine – 1

5. Sour curd – 1.5 cups

6. Coriander leaves chopped fine – 1 big spoon

    Soda powder – A pinch

    Salt – For taste

How to prepare Rava Idli (Recipe 2)?

1. Heat oil and sputter mustard and urud dal.

2. Add ingredients no: 4 to it, sauté it and put off the flame.

3. Allow this mixture to cool off completely.

4. Beat the curd and add to this mixture.

5. Add ingredients no: 6 followed by semolina and prepare the batter for rava idli.

6. Allow the batter to rest for half an hour.

7. Steam cook your idlis in idli maker.

8. Serve with any chutney of your choice.

Rava Idli (Recipe 3)

Ingredients for Rava Idli (Recipe 3):

1. Oil  2 big spoons

2. Mustard – 1 small spoon

3. Onions chopped fine – ¼ cup

    Ginger chopped fine – 1 small spoon

    Green chillies chopped fine – 4

    Curry leaves chopped fine – 1 stem

    Salt – For taste

4. Semolina (rava) – 1 cup

5. Curd – 1 cup

    Water – 1 cup

6. Baking soda – ¼ small spoon

How to prepare Rava Idli (Recipe 3)?

1. Heat oil in a pan and sputter mustard seeds.

2. Sauté ingredients no: 3.

3. When onions turn brown, add semolina, mix well and take off from flame.

4. Allow it to cool completely.

5. Add curd and water and allow it to rest for half an hour.

6. Add baking soda and if needed excess water too.

7. Pour the batter in moulds of an idlimaker.

8. Steam cook them to get delicious rava idli.
