Puliyaanappam

Ingredients for Puliyaanappam:

1. Raw rice – ¼ kg

2. Cooked rice – ¼ cup

3. Egg – 1

4. Coconut oil – For frying

5. Sugar – ½ cup

6. Cardamom powder – A pinch

7. Salt – For taste

How to prepare Puliyaanappam?

1. Soak rice in water for 1.5 hours.

2. Make a fine paste of rice, along with cooked rice and salt.

3. Beat an egg and add to this batter.

4. Heat oil in a pan.

5. Take a coconut shell ladle with a pore beneath.

6. Pour batter in hot oil using this ladle lengthwise. Repeat the process.

7. When the batter gets fried it resembles full tamarind (and hence the name).

8. Prepare sugar solution adding half cup water to sugar and boil it well.

9. Add cardamom power before you put off the flame.

10. Take a bowl and place sugar syrup at the centre and Puliyaanappam around it.

11. You can dip Puliyaanappam in sugar solution and enjoy the taste.
