Pazham Varattiyathu
Ingredients for Pazham Varattiyathu:
1. Big sized Kerala banana (Ethapazham) – 2
2. Ghee – 2 big spoons
3. Dry fruits – 1 big spoon
4. Coconut scrapped – ½ cup
5. Jaggery scrapped – 50 gm
6. Cardamom powder – ¼ small spoon
Dry ginger powder (Chukku podi) – A pinch
How to prepare Pazham Varattiyathu?
1. Remove the skin of bananas and chop into lengthy pieces.
2. Heat ghee in a pan and fry dry fruits.
3. Remove dry fruits from oil and sauté banana.
4. Add scrapped coconut and sauté till it turns golden brown.
5. Add jaggery and keep stirring till it melts.
6. When the contents are mixed well, reduce the flame.
7. Fry till water content is almost absorbed.
8. Add cardamom powder, dry ginger powder and dry fruits.
9. Mix the contents well and put off the flame.
10. Serve hot.

Pazham Varattiyath (Recipe 2)
Ingredients for Pazham Varattiyath (Recipe 2):
1. Kerala banana (Ethapazham) – 2, cut into small pieces
2. Water – ½ cup
Jaggery powdered – 1 small spoon
Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon
Chilli powder – ¼ small spoon
3. Coconut oil – 1 small spoon
Curry leaves – 1 stem
How to prepare Pazham Varattiyath (Recipe 2)?
1. Transfer banana along with ingredients no: 2 into a pan.
2. Close it with a banana leaf, and cook the contents in low flame.
3. When banana is well cooked, smash it well and add curry leaves and coconut oil.
4. Put off the flame.
5. Serve with steam cake or upma. You can also eat it as a snack.
