Onion Confit Tarts
Ingredients for Onion Confit Tarts:
For pastry:
1. Maida – 1 cup
Butter – 125 gms
Cheese grated – 1 cup
For filling:
2. Salt-less butter – 3 big spoons
Olive oil – 2 big spoons
3. Onion sliced – 750 gm
4. Nutmeg – A pinch
5. Salt and pepper – As required
6. Eggs – 2
7. Thick cream – 1/3rd cup
How to prepare Onion Confit Tarts?
1. Pre-heat oven in 2000 degree Celsius.
2. Mix ingredients no: 1 to prepare the dough. Knead softly.
3. Spread in tart tray, and make marks using fork here and there.
4. Place it in freezer.
5. Take it from freezer and bake in pre-heated oven for 10 minutes.
6. Mix butter and olive oil together and heat it.
7. Add onions and cook for 40 minutes, with lid closed. Onions should turn soft.
8. Add nutmeg, pepper and salt, and put off the flame.
9. Allow it to cool.
10. Add cream and beaten eggs, and mix well.
11. Fill it in tarts, and bake for 25 minutes. They should set.
