Muthumani – Malayalam character actress of ‘How Old Are You’ fame
Muthumani is a popular Malayalam film actress associated with films since 2006. She has also anchored a few shows too. She marked her debut with Mohanlal starrer ‘Rasathanthram’ in 2006 playing the jealousy character Kumari, and has appeared in more than 30 films. She plays character roles on screen.
Her roles as Manju Warrier’s friend in How Old Are You, sixty-year-old North Malabari woman in Njan and one among the three troubled wives of Mohanlal starrer – Innathe Chinta Vishayam are memorable. Muthumani is a lawyer by profession
Muthumani hails from Edapally, Ernakulam, and was born in 1987. Muthumani is a trained classical dancer, and also a performer of monoact. She worked in theatre before moving to films. She graduated in law from National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi and enrolled as an advocate in Kerala High Court, Ernakulam.
She was associated with theatre since school days. Later she continued with theatre, which helped her to bag her first film, Rasathanthram, directed by Sathyan Anthikad. She got the offer while working for the act, Karnaabharanam. Since then she got opportunity to work with all leading stars of the industry. Mostly she played outspoken, insolence & jealousy type character on screen, and she broke that image with Mammootty starrer, Uncle (2018) and her performance in the film climax earned her applauses.

1. She dubbed for Padmapriya in Iyobinte Pusthakam (2014).
2. She has worked as a child artist for All India Radio and has topped in monoact for Kerala School Kalolsavam for nine consecutive years.
3. Her married happened one month after the release of her debut flick. Her husband Arun scripted the film Nellika and directed 2019 film, Finals.
4. She acted in a Malayalam theatre adaptation of The God of Small Things.
5. Role assigned for her in movie Uncle was changed at last moment, when the artist was not available for shooting. Thus she got the memorable role of Lakshmi.
6. Because of her curly hair, she used to enact Sai Baba for school fancy dress competition, and frequently won prizes as well.
