Moode and Pumpkin Chutney

Ingredients for Moode and Pumpkin Chutney:

For Moode:

1. Black gram – 1 glass

2. Ponni rice – 3 glasses

3. Salt – For taste

4. Screw pine leaves – As needed

For Pumpkin Chutney:

1. Pumpkin – 1.2 kg

    Salt – For taste

2. Coriander powder – 3 table spoons

    Chilli powder – 1.5 tsp

    Black gram dal – 1 tsp

    Coconut – 1/2

How to prepare Moode and Pumpkin Chutney?

For Moode:

1. Soak rice and urud dal for 8 hours in water.

2. Make a smooth paste by grinding them together.

3. Ferment the batter for 8 hours.

4. Take screw pine leaves and remove thorns.

5. Now make it into round tubular shapes and fix it well using coconut leaf midribs.

6. Pour batter inside them, and steam cook.

7. Once it’s done, slice into small pieces and serve with pumpkin chutney.

For Pumpkin Chutney:

1. Cook pumpkins first, adding salt.

2. Blend ingredients no: 2 in a mixer. Never make a smooth paste.

3. Mix it with cooked pumpkin and use.
