Manju Swaraj – Kannada Filmmaker of ‘Shravani Subramanya’ fame
Manju Swaraj is a young director and screenwriter who works in Kannada cinema since 2005. He made his directorial debut with Shishira in 2009, and later directed the films – Shravani Subramanya (2013), Srikanta (2017) and Pataki (2017). Of all the four releases till 2017, Shravani Subramanya is most successful, which ran in full-packed theatres for more than 100 days and was a huge hit.
Manju is a native of Mysore. He started his film journey as an assistant director working under Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar in 2005 and turned a full-fledged director four years later. His debut film, Shishira though received rave reviews from critics fared only average at box office. But with the release of Shravani Subramanya in 2013 he shot to instant fame. Then he took hiatus of 4 years to make two films in a row, but couldn’t replicate the success of Shravani Subramanya.

1. Actress Prema made a comeback to silver screen with his debut flick, Shishira while Amulya returned to silver screen with his second film, Shravani Subramanya.
2. His first three film titles start with English alphabet, ‘S’.
3. He is the nephew of Professor Krishne Gowda, a famous Kannada standup comedian.
