Manish Gandhi – Actor and director associated with Hindi entertainment industry

Manish Gandhi is an Indian actor and director most popular with his roles in Hindi TV soaps. He has also acted and directed many short films such as Cock in 2015, Limbo in 2012 and The Proposal in 2018. He has appeared in TV soaps such as Gumrah: End of Innocence, Judwa Raja, I Luv My India, Haunted Nights, Crime Patrol, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha 2 etc. He has also directed and acted in many plays. As a television actor he is best known for his role as mentally challenged Jigri in Colors’ Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha – Season 2.

Manish Gandhi hails from Chandigarh. He began acting at a young age. Initially he directed plays before moving to other mediums. As a director, his first stint with entertainment industry happened during his graduation days. His lead role in Rizwaan (2010) is one of his early noted roles. He is familiar to Indian audiences through Hindi television shows and ads.

Most of his works are related to music, his plays are musical and he now plans to study at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). He has already cleared the tough entrance test of the Inlaks Foundations, and is one among the 30 selected students across the globe. He stepped into the television industry with an Airtel commercial, and gained recognition through Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha.

Manish Gandhi – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. He had a short stint with FTII Pune, and received a scholarship from the Inlaks Shivdasani, Foundation in 2009.

2. He has appeared in many TV ads, of which his AirTel ad is popular.

3. He has conducted theatre programs at Board of Education, Chandigarh.

4. He loves music and most of his directorial ventures are musicals.

5. He spent many years in Bangalore, when he was associated with theatre, and has worked with Nritarutya and Jagriti.

6. He won the 2011 Outstanding Male Actor Thespo for Mike Bratlett’s ‘Cock‘.

7. He is a party-phobia person, and feels that he cannot easily express before someone new, through words.
