Maanga Perukk (Mango Perukk)
Ingredients for Maanga Perukk (Mango Perukk):
1. Green mango – 1, big
2. Coconut – ½, scrapped
Cumin seeds – ½ small spoon
Green chillies – 5
Mustard – 1 small spoon
3. Curd – ½ cup
4. Coconut oil – 1 big spoon
5. Mustard – ½ small spoon
Red chillies – 2
Curry leaves – 2 stems
How to prepare Maanga Perukk (Mango Perukk)?
1. Remove the skin of mango and chop into very fine pieces.
2. Crush mango pieces once.
3. Make a paste of ingredients no: 2.
4. Mix mango, coconut gravy and curd together.
4. Heat oil and temper ingredients no: 5.
6. Add this oil to Maanga Perukk and mix well.
Note: You can substitute green chillies using red chillies, chilli powder or smoked chillies. Use only well-ripen green mango for preparation. You may not grind coconut to a very fine paste if you prefer.
