Lukman Lukku – Malayalam film actor of Operation Java and Unda fame

Lukman Lukku, best known as Lukman is an actor associated with Mollywood, best known for his memorable character roles. Operation Java, Unda, Churuli, Sudani from Nigeria, French Viplavam, Archana 31 Not Out, Jackson Bazar Youth, Aarattu, From Freetown TL etc are some of the memorable roles he played onscreen. He has also appeared in television shows, short films etc. He started getting noticed through, Sudani from Nigeria, where he played the role of Rajesh. Now he is one of the promising young actors of Malayalam cinema.

Lukman started his career through less noticed film Dayom Panthrandum

Lukman Lukku alias Lukman Avaran hails from Changaramkulam, a town in Ponnani taluk of Malappuram district. After completing engineering degree from Applied Electronics and Instrumentation at Royal College of Engineering and Technology in Thrissur, he moved to Kochi to pursue his acting dreams. In fact he lied to parents that he moved to Kochi in search of job opportunities.

He got his first bit role through Dayom Panthrandum. The movie went unnoticed. Yet the first movie to hit theatres was Sapthamashree Thaskaraha (2014). Only after he appeared in KL 10 Patthu, his family came to know about it. Though initially they were little bit stressed, later everything worked fine in Lukman’s favour. He is married to Jumaima since 2022.

Sudani from Nigeria and Unda established his career

The first role of Lukman to get noticed was Sudani from Nigeria. After he appeared in Mammootty starrer Unda, people started easily recognizing him. It was a time when he appeared in a string of hit movies like Udhaaharanam Sujatha, Godha etc. Operation Java and Unda are the most memorable roles of his career till now. Operation Java was the first lead role of his career, and the movie & his performance received rave reviews too. The actor could very much relate himself to this character, as he is also a BTech graduate, trying to get a job.

1. During his struggling years in Kochi, he has worked as a salesman in a medical shop and also a driver.

2. He was a movie buff during his academic years. Born in a remote village where not even movie posters were seen, he used to go to nearby places to watch movies in theatres.

3. He appeared in the short film Thamara and A beautiful mystery.
