Gooseberry Pachadi (Nellikka Pachadi) for Vishu Sadya

Ingredients for Gooseberry Pachadi (Nellikka Pachadi) for Vishu Sadya:

1. Gooseberry – 8

2. Ginger – 1 small piece

    Green chillies – 4

    Shallots – 6

3. Coconut oil – 1 big spoon

4. Mustard – 1 small spoon

    Red chillies – 2, broken

    Curry leaves – 2 stems

5. Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon

6. Thick coconut milk – 1.5 cups

    Salt – For taste

7. Sourless thick curd – ½-3/4 cup, beaten

How to prepare Gooseberry Pachadi (Nellikka Pachadi) for Vishu Sadya?

1. Remove the seeds of gooseberries and crush it once.

2. Crush together ingredients no: 2.

3. Heat oil and sauté ingredients no: 4.

4. Add crushed ginger mixture and turmeric powder and sauté the contents.

5. When raw smell goes out, add crushed gooseberry.

6. Sauté for a few minutes and add salt and coconut milk.

7. Boil the contents in low flame till gooseberry is well cooked.

8. When contents thicken, take the pan from flame.

9. When the contents cool completely add beaten curd, and mix the contents well.
