Fruit Mince Pie
Ingredients for Fruit Mince Pie:
1. Nutmeg – 1 small piece
Cinnamon – 1 small piece
Cardamom – 2
Cloves – 2
2. Apple – 3, chopped into tiny pieces
Black current/raisins – 1 cup
Cranberry – ¼ cup
Brown sugar – ¼ cup
Fresh orange juice – 1.25 cups
Orange skin fried – 2 big spoons
Cinnamon – 2 pieces
Wine – ¼ cup
For tart base:
2. Salted butter – 100 gm
Maida – 175 gm
4. Cold water – 2.5 big spoons
How to prepare Fruit Mince Pie?
1. To prepare fruit mince, first make a powder of ingredients no: 1.
2. Cook ingredients no: 2 in a pan.
3. When ingredients are cooked and juice thickens, add the masala powder.
4. Mix the contents well and take from flame. This is fruit mince.
5. Pre-heat oven in 180 degree celsious.
6. To prepare tart base, add butter to maida first.
7. Using fingers mix the ingredients together till it resembles bread crumbs.
8. Add cold water and softly knead the dough.
9. Place the dough between two butter papers and spread.
10. Place the same butter paper in tart tray and allow the spread dough to set.
11. Bake it in pre-heated oven for 5 minutes.
12. Fill the fruit mince in this tart first.
13. Make star shapes from dough of tart dough and decorate the pie.
14. Place it back in oven and back for 20-25 minutes.
Note: You can also prepare fruit mince and store it in refrigerator for a few months. Prepare instant pie using this fruit mince.
