Dates Unniyappam
Ingredients for Dates Unniyappam:
1. Egg – 1
Sugar – 3 big spoons
2. Maida – 3 big spoons
Semolina – ½ cup
3. Dates – 8 big, cut into pieces
Cashews broken – 2 big spoons
Cardamom powder – ½ small spoon
Rose water – 1 big spoon
Ghee – 2 small spoons
Salt – A little
Baking soda – ¼ small spoon
Milk – ½ cup
4. Oil – For frying
How to prepare Dates Unniyappam?
1. Beat egg and sugar together.
2. Add maida and semolina to it and mix the contents well.
3. Add ingredients no: 3 to it and mix the contents well.
4. If the batter is thick, add a little water to adjust the consistency.
5. Allow the batter to rest for next two hours.
6. Place Unniyappam maker in stove and pour two small spoons of oil in each mould.
7. Pour a small spoon of batter in each mould.
8. Cook both sides in golden brown colour.
N.B: To improve the taste, you can mix a little ghee with oil for frying.
