Chemb Astram

Ingredients for Chemb Astram:

1. Colocasia (Small Chemb) – 10

2. Green chillies – 6, split into two

    Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon

3. Coconut – 1/2, scrapped

    Cumin seeds – 1 big pinch

    Garlic – 2 cloves

    Shallots – 3

    Bird’s eye chili (Kanthari) – 4

4. Curd – ½ cup

5. Coconut oil – 2 big spoons

How to prepare Chemb Astram?

1. Clean colocasia and cut into 2 or 3 pieces each.

2. Add ingredients no: 2 to it and cook well.

3. Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 3.

4. When the contents are well cooked, add this paste to it and mix well.

5. When curry starts boiling, add curd to it and mix well.

6. Add coconut oil (without boiling) and put the flame off.
