Yamini Singh – Popular supporting actress of Hindi soap dramas

Yamini Singh (born in 1971) is a popular television actress associated with Hindi soaps since 1999. In the past two decades she has been a part of more than 20 Tv shows, mostly playing supporting roles. Prior to her entry on small screen, she played a few supporting roles in Bollywood movies such as Jai Santoshi Maa, Badhaai Ho Badhaai, Kitne Door Kitne Paas, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, Tarpan in the 1990s and early 2000s. Later she fully switched to television. In 2018 she returned to silver screen through Evening Shadows, directed by Sridhar Rangayan in a supporting role.

Yamini Singh hails from Delhi. She graduated from Punjab University. She got her first break to silver screen through offbeat film, Tarpan in 1994 where she played Om Puri’s daughter. She continued with supporting roles in Bollywood, but nothing was significant. In 1999 she joined small screen through TV series, Bandhan. For a few years she continued accepting both TV and film roles, and when got busy with small screen, dropped Bollywood career. Some of her popular roles are Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari, Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi…Let’s Go, Haasil, Internet Wala Love etc and currently appears in the TV show, Krishna Chali London since 2018.

Yamini Singh – Some interesting facts

1. She was a part of the stage play, Silsilay in Mallika Sarabhai’s Darpana Academy of Performing Arts.

2. She played the role of Sarita, a south Indian woman who is a victim of domestic abuse in 2018 Bollywood flick, Evening Shadows. The movie marked her comeback to silver screen after a break of almost 16 years.

3. Yamini’s small screen career is successful though she couldn’t make it big at Bollywood.

4. She studied from Chandigarh’s MCM DAV College, Punjab University, which groomed her in many ways. Chandigarh is her hometown.
