Anjala Zaveri – Film actress of ‘Pyar Kiya to Darna Kya’ fame

Anjala Zaveri is a successful model who appeared in a few Bollywood and south Indian movies. She acted in a few movies of 1990s in the lead role but received only limited success. As an actress she gained recognition through Tamil and Telugu movies. Anjala marked her acting debut with Himalayaputra where she was paired with debutant Akshay Khanna, and was also seen in Betaabi opposite Chandrachur Singh. As a Bollywood actress she is best known for playing the second lead role of Pyar Kiya to Darna Kya, where she was paired with Arbaaz Khan. The song “Teri Jawani” was filmed on both. Anjala is married to model turned actor Tarun Arora of Jab We Met fame.

Anjala Zaveri is an Indian British actress, born in London in 1972. She was a find of veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna who casted her opposite Akshay Khanna for his debut film, Himalayaputra. In 1997 she marked her debut in Bollywood, Telugu and Tamil film industries through the films – Himalayaputra, Preminchukundam Raa and Pagaivan respectively. She also played lead role in Betaabi the same year. As an actress she gained limited success through Tamil and Telugu films, and since early 2000s, she mostly played cameo roles on screen before she settled with her family life.

1. Anjala acted in all the four major south Indian language films apart from Bollywood.

2. She was paired with megastar Mammootty for 2001 Malayalam film, Dubai.

3. She played second lead role in Chiranjeevi starrer Tollywood action thriller film Choodalani Vundi. The film’s success earned her more roles from south Indian film industry.

4. She played the female lead to some Bollywood actors for their debut films – Akshay Khanna for Himalayaputra and Arbaz Khan for Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya being the best instances.

5. Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya is the single box office hit of her Bollywood career.
