Daniel Annie Pope – Tamil comedian of ‘Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara’ fame
Daniel Annie Pope is a comedian actor and character artist from Tamil movies. He is also a professional stage actor. Pope appeared in Tamil films such as Rangoon, Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara, Kaathadi, Aayirathil Iruvar, Maragadha Naanayam, Rowthiram, Thittam Poattu Thirudura Kootam, Vada Chennai, Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren etc. He played Vijay Sethupathi’s friend, ‘Romba Sumar Moonji Kumaru’ in the movie. Both his name and dialogues became super hit and he bagged numerous comic roles later. Curly black hair is his trademark style.
Daniel Annie Pope was born in 1990 in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu. He graduated in Visual Communications at Loyola College, Chennai and during those days he was active in theater. He taught plays and mime in schools before he received his first break through Polladhavan in 2007. After playing a couple more less significant roles he joined Vasanth TV as television program producer for the show, “Aadu – Maatuna Briyani Thaan“. He later worked with Vijay TV and a few more TV channels before getting his first big break through Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara in 2013.
Daniel Annie Pope – Some interesting and less-known facts
1. He worked in theater for more than 10 years before got into films and has done many street plays.
2. In 2007 his name was entered into the Guinness book of world records for the longest theatre play, when he successfully completed the attempt for long 72 hours without break. He took two years of rigor training also.
3. He is a winner of the title of Best Mimer in South Indian in 2008, and he also taught stage plays and mimes for interested students in school before he received his first film break.
4. He was a participant of Bigg Boss – Season 2 in 2018.
5. Initially he was called for a bit role in Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara. But after the audition the director felt that the role should be developed and thus it turned beneficial to Daniel who got a major break through the movie. His dialogues also became a mass hit among Tamil film viewers.
