Bilimbi Pickle (Irumbanpuli Pickle)
Ingredients for Bilimbi Pickle (Irumbanpuli Pickle):
1. Bilimbi (Irumbanpuli) – ½ kg
2. Chilli powder – 1 big spoon
Pickle powder – 2 big spoons
Turmeric powder – As needed
Mustard powdered – ½ small spoon
Fenugreek powdered – ½ small spoon
Salt – For taste
3. Oil – As needed
4. Mustard – 1 small spoon
Red chillies – 2
Curry leaves – 1 stem
5. Ginger – 1 small piece, chopped
Green chillies (less hot) – 6, chopped
Garlic – 10 cloves, chopped
6. Turmeric powder, pickle powder and chilli powder – As needed
How to prepare Bilimbi Pickle (Irumbanpuli Pickle)?
1. Wash bilimbis, completely remove moisture content and cut into 4 lengthy pieces each.
2. Cook bilimbis, along with ingredients no: 2 adding 1 glass water.
3. Keep it in rest for 1 day.
4. Heat oil in a pan, and temper ingredients no: 4.
5. Add ingredients no: 5 and sauté well.
6. When it turns almost fried, add bilimbis and cook for a few minutes.
7. When your bilimbi pickle thickens, put off the flame.
8. If you want, you can add extra water. Boil the pickle well.
