Beef Ethakka Curry (Beef – Raw Banana Curry)

Ingredients for Beef Ethakka Curry (Beef – Raw Banana Curry):

1. Beef with fat, cut into small pieces -1/2 kg

2. Raw banana – ¼ kg

3. Green chillies – 5, split into two

    Ginger – 1 piece cut into thin length-wise parts

    Curry leaves – 2 stalks

    Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon

    Salt – As needed

4. Coconut oil – 2 big spoons

5. Coconut scrapped – 2 cups

    Fennel seeds – 2 small spoons

   Cinnamon – 1 piece

   Cardamom – 2

   Cloves – 4

   Garlic – 5 cloves

6. Chilli powder – 2 small spoons

   Coriander powder – 1 big spoon

   Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon

   Salt – As needed

How to prepare Beef Ethakka Curry (Beef – Raw Banana Curry)?

1. Clean and cut beef into pieces.

2. Cut banana also into small pieces.

3. Add ingredients no: 3 to beef and cook in a pressure cooker adding sufficient water.

4. Heat oil in a pan, and fry ingredients no: 5.

5. When it turns brown, add ingredients no: 6 and fry again till it’s done. Put the flame off.

6. Allow the coconut mixture to cool, and later grind well in a mixer.

7. Add banana pieces to cooked beef and cook well.

8. When it’s almost done, add the gravy along with salt if needed and cook till gravy turns dry.

9. Beef Ethakka Curry should be in Piralan style.
