Anusmriti Sarkar – Film actress with Bollywood film ‘One Day: Justice Delivered’ to her credit

Anusmriti Sarkar is an Indian film actress who appears in Bengali, Telugu and Bollywood films. She is a Bengali model, who joined films in 2011. She has acted in a dozen of films belonging to different languages in the past few years. She played the supporting role of Shagufta in Anupam Kher starrer crime thriller, One Day: Justice Delivered released in 2019. The movie marked her Bollywood debut after a couple of delayed releases. She appeared in Bengali films – . Bikram Singha: The Lion Is Back, Moner Majhe Tumi and Bhorer Alo, and Tollywood films – Vankai Fry, Ishta Sakhi, Heroine, Suswagatham etc.

Anusmriti Sarkar was born in Kolkata in 1991. She started her career as a modelling, appeared in TV ads and print ads before joining film industry in 2011. Her first release was a Telugu film, Vankai Fry in a lead role followed by Bhorer Alo in Bengali, where she played one among the four heroines and also a double role. Since then she has appeared in a few more Telugu and Bengali films, apart from a Bollywood film. Many of her films are unreleased and got delayed, and she is yet in wait for a big break in film industry.

Anusmriti Sarkar – Some less-known and interesting facts

1. She started modelling and film journey during her college days at the age of 17. Though her father was a big strict person, he granted her permission on condition that she should complete her education.  

2. She took acting classes in Mumbai, as she was serious about movies.

3. She has been a part of several ad campaigns, and supports healthy environment through her campaigns. She is also involved with several NGOs and charity organizations.

4. She signed four Hindi films in a row including Jaane Yeh Kaisa Ishq, Six X and O Pushpa I hate tears. Only the film ‘One Day: Justice Delivered’ had a theatre release till 2019.

5. She replaced Riya Sen for her debut Bengali flick, Bhorer Alo, and her work was appreciated. She was paired opposite superstar of Bengal Prosenjit Chaterjee.

6. She has appeared in the TV ads of Manyavar, Tiger biscuit, Khadims Chappal, Reliance Sim, Livon Hair Serum, Marie biscuit etc.
