Aarti Chabria – Bollywood actress of ‘Awara Pagal Deewana’ fame

Aarti Chabria is an Indian actress and model. She predominantly worked in Bollywood, apart from a few Punjabi and south Indian films. As an actress she is best known for playing lead role of Tina Chappu, an NRI in Akshay Kumar starrer comedy hit film, ‘Awara Pagal Deewana’. She also appeared in popular Hindi music videos such as Adnan Sami’s Roote Hue Kyon and Sukhwinder Singh’s Nasha Hi Nasha Hai. She won the fourth season of Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi, in 2011. In 1999 she won Miss India Worldwide 2000 title.

She started her modelling career at the age of 3

Aarti Chabria was born into a Sindhi family in Mumbai in 1982. She started her modelling journey at the age of 3 when she appeared in a print ad of Farex child food, appeared in ad columns of dailies. Since then she continued to do several ads, and was featured in more than 300. In the late 1990s she moved to ad campaigns as an adult and also featured as a model in many popular music videos. She was featured in many ads which made her a well-known face of small screen and ad world.

Tumse Achcha Kaun Hai in 2002 was her first screen appearance, where she became a part of Emraan Hashmi – Diya Mirza starrer. She played her first full-fledged role through Awara Paagal Deewana the same year, and following the movie’s success bagged several offers from Bollywood and other language films. Raja Bhaiya in 2003 was her only noted movie in Bollywood later, where she played lead role opposite Govinda. Her role as an insane girl with split personality was appreciated.

She tried luck in south Indian films and also did item numbers

In 2003 she marked her south Indian debut through Telugu movie, Okariki Okaru. She was paired with Sriram and the movie was a commercial hit. She did one more Telugu film, Intlo Srimathi Veedhilo Kumari, before moving back to Bollywood. She later appeared in Bollywood films such as Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo, Shaadi No: 1, Ssukh, Dus Tola, Milenge Milenge, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Teesri Aankh: The Hidden Camera, Toss, Daddy Cool etc apart from a few special appearances in Heyy Baby, Anamika, Partner etc.

Dus Tola in 2010 was her last release in Hindi, where she played the parallel led opposite Manoj Bajpayee. She played lead role in her single Kannada film, Aham Premasmi (2005) and her last theatre release – Vyah 70 km, a Punjabi movie released in 2013. After winning Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2011, she stayed away from limelight. She is one among the model-turned-actresses of Bollywood, who failed to make it big in Bollywood, despite getting good roles. In 2019 she tied the knot with her long time fiance Visharad Beedassy in a private party in Mumbai. Visharad is a charted accountant based in Mauritius.

Aarti Chabria – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. She was featured in many music videos of late 1990s and early 2000s. Adnan Sami’s Roote Hue Kyon and Sukhwinder Singh’s Nasha Hi Nasha Hai are most popular ones. ‘Meri Madhubala’ for Avdooth Gupte and ‘Chaahat’ for Harry Anand too became popular.

2. She has been featured in TV ads of Maggi Noodles, Pepsodent toothpaste, Kalyan Jewellers, Clean & Clear face wash, Amul Frostick Ice cream, Krack cream.

3. In 2017 she produced and directed her first short film, “Mumbai Varanasi Express“, which won many international awards and was released in Royal Stag Large short films – YouTube channel.

4. Her father is a dentist by profession and her mother is a designer of beaded curtains.

5. She is an ardent follower of Lord Ganesha.

6. She is an avid dog lover and owns many dogs as pets.

7. She is a fitness freak and still follows a strict workout routine.
