Raakkuyil Paadi song from Kasthooriman – Lyrics in English with Translation

Rakuyil Padi Ravinte Shokam

Nakshatra Kunjungalkinnaanandha Vela

Night bird sang night’s sorrows

Star children tonight, have happy moments

Rakuyil Padi Ravinte Shokam

Nakshatra Kunjungalkinnaanandha Vela

Night bird sang night’s sorrows

Star children tonight, have happy moments

Idarunnu Thalam Thulumbunnu Kanneer

Idanenjiletho Mani Veena Thengi

Scattering rhythm

Brimming tears

Some earthen Veena sobbed in heart

Rakuyil Padi Ravinte Shokam

Nakshatra Kunjungalkinnaanandha Vela (M)

Night bird sang night’s sorrows

Star children tonight, have happy moments

Hoi, Kattathethum Vellam

Mazha Vellam Mazha Vellam

Hai Muttam Ethum Vellam

Mazha Vellam Mazha Vellam

Water that reaches through wind,

Water, rain water

Water kissing courtyard,

Water, rain water

Njanundakkum Kali Vallam Vallam

Thane Thullidum Ennullam (Chorus)

Play boat I make,

My heart also jumps along

Ravin Nenjil Pookunnuvo

Vaada Mallikal

Is it blossoming in the heart of night,

Non-withering jasmines?

Mannin Maaril Veezhunnuvo

Vaadum Poovukal

Is it falling in earth’s bosom,

Withering flowers?

Ravin Nenjil Pookunnuvo

Vaada Mallikal

Is it blossoming in the heart of night,

Non-withering jasmines?

Mannin Maaril Veezhunnuvo

Vaadum Poovukal

Is it falling in earth’s bosom,

Withering flowers?

Irulurungumbol Unarum Prabhatham

Marayunnu Vanil Thara Jaalam

The morning that wakes up,

When night sleeps

And disappears the magical stars of sky

Evide Evide Neela Thukalin Chantham-

Charthum Swapnangal

Marayunnatharu Theliyunnatharu

Where is the beauty of blue cloth(sky)?

Who is disappearing?

Who is becoming visible?

Rakuyil Padi Ravinte Shokam

Nakshatra Kunjungalkinnaanandha Vela (M)

Night bird sang night’s sorrows

Star children tonight, have happy moments

Aaaaa Om Karam Om Karam Aaaaaaaa

Sa Sa Sa Sa Ri Ri Sa Ni Sa Sa Ni Pa Pa

Sa Sa Ni Sa Dha Ri Sa Ni Pa Ga

Ma Pa Dha Ni

Om Kaara Pankara Dheera Pura Hara Saroja-

Bhava Kesha Vadhi Roopa Vaasavani Poo

Janakanthakaaaaaaa (F)

Rakuyil Padi Ravinte Shokam

Nakshatra Kunjungalkinnaanandha Vela

Night bird sang night’s sorrows

Star children tonight, have happy moments

Hoi, Kattathethum Vellam

Mazha Vellam Mazha Vellam

Hai Muttam Ethum Vellam

Mazha Vellam Mazha Vellam

Water that reaches through wind,

Water, rain water

Water kissing courtyard,

Water, rain water

Njanundakkum Kali Vallam Vallam

Thane Thullidum Ennullam

Play boat I make,

My heart also jumps along

Hoi, Kattathethum Vellam

End note: Undoubtedly, ripples and hysteria created by Kunchakko Boban as a youth icon/romantic hero, nobody has ever created in Mollywood. Born into a family of filmmakers, he came into film scene in year 1997, when aged heroes – Mohanlal, Mammootty & Suresh Gopi were ruling the screen with their action films & family dramas. There was no hero to represent the youth. Two romantic movies aside Shalini – Aniyathipravu & Niram made him the heartthrob of youngsters. Now he has moved on to mature roles and most of his films are critically acclaimed, he owns a wider audience too. Yet he is still remembered by Malayalis as the face of romance of modern times, exactly the same as Shah Rukh Khan is to Bollywood, since mid-1990s. Some people are just non-replaceable.
