Koorkka – Kizhangu Ularthu (Chinese Potato – Kizhangu Ularthu)

Ingredients for Koorkka – Kizhangu Ularthu (Chinese Potato – Kizhangu Ularthu):

1. Chinese potato cleaned and chopped into lengthy pieces – 250 gm

    Salt – For taste

    Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon

    Water – As needed

2. Potato cleaned and chopped into lengthy pieces – 250 gm

3. Shallots – ½ cup

    Garlic – 1 cluster, full

    Red chillies – 10, after removing seeds

4. Oil – 2 big spoons

5. Curry leaves – A stem

How to prepare Koorkka – Kizhangu Ularthu (Chinese Potato – Kizhangu Ularthu)?

1. Cook Chinese potato adding sufficient quantity of water, salt and turmeric powder.

2. When it is half done, add potatoes.

3. Cook potatoes and Chinese potato till both are well cooked and water content is fully absorbed.

4. Crush ingredients no: 3 together.

5. Heat oil in a pan and sauté crushed ingredients and curry leaves.

6. Add cooked potatoes and Chinese potato and keep sauting for a few minutes.

7. When water content is fully absorbed and your Ularthu turns dry, put off the flame.
