Dried Prawns Chutney Powder (Unakka Chemmeen Chammanthi Podi)
Ingredients for Dried Prawns Chutney Powder (Unakka Chemmeen Chammanthi Podi):
1. Dry prawns – 250 gm
2. Coconut – 1, scrapped
3. Shallots – 200 gm, chopped
4. Pot tamarind – 1 small piece (it should not be excess)
Chilli powder – 1 big spoon
Garlic – 2 cloves
Salt – As required
5. Oil – 50 gm
6. Mustard – 1 small spoon
7. Red chillies – 2, split
How to prepare Dried Prawns Chutney Powder (Unakka Chemmeen Chammanthi Podi)?
1. Clean dried prawns and dry fry it. Never over fry it.
2. When it cools, make a powder of prawns.
3. Mix ingredients no: 4 and powder it.
4. Heat oil and fry red chillies.
5. Add chopped shallots to it and sauté it well.
6. Add scrapped coconut and sauté it well.
7. Add other powdered ingredients to it and fry for three more minutes.
