Prawns Green Rice

Ingredients for Prawns Green Rice:

1. Prawns big – 1 kg

2. Coriander leaves – ¼ cup

    Mint leaves – ¼ cup

    Green chillies – 3

    Lemon juice – 1 tsp

    Salt – As required

    Ginger-garlic paste – 1 table spoon

For masala:

3. Onions – 5

    Tomato – 2

    Green chillies – 5

    Ginger-garlic paste – 1 table spoon

4. Coriander leaves – ½ cup

    Mint leaves – ½ cup

    Curry leaves – 2 stems (chopped)

    Pepper seeds (raw and green) – 1 table spoon

5. Salt – For taste

    Curd – 2 table spoons

6. Coconut oil – 2 table spoons

7. Garam masala – 1 teaspoon

8. Fennel seeds powdered – 1 tsp

To prepare rice:

9. Basmati rice – 1 kg

10. Cinnamon, cloves and cardamom – 3 each

      Ghee – As required

     Salt – As required

How to prepare Prawns Green Rice?

1. Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 2 and marinate prawns with this masala.

2. Allow it to rest for half an hour.

3. Transfer the prawns to a non-stick pan and cook in low flame till water content is almost absorbed.

4. Add a little coconut oil and fry it.

5. Heat oil in another pan and sauté ingredients no: 3, followed by ingredients no: 4.

6. Make a fine paste of the above mixture.

7. Add salt and curd to the above gravy, followed by garam masala and fennel powder.

8. Add prawns to this gravy and mix well.

9. Add basmati rice to boiling water, along with ingredients no: 10.

10. Mix the contents well and cook rice till it’s almost done.

11. Transfer prawns masala to a thick bottomed pan and spread rice on its top.

12. Pour ghee on its top and close the lid.

13. Cook your prawn rice in low flame till steam starts coming out.

14. Put off the flame and allow it to bake for a few more minutes before you serve.
