Kranti Prakash Jha – Young cricketer Santosh Lal in the 2016 Bollywood biographical sports drama M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story
Kranti Prakash Jha is a Bollywood actor best known for his supporting roles in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Batla House etc. Son of a bureaucrat, he is a model turned actor, who initially worked in award winning Bhojpuri and Maithili language films, before joining Bollywood with 2013 Sanjay Leela Bansali movie, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. He got his major break playing cricketer Santosh Lal in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story released in 2016. He played the brief role of a terrorist named Adil Ameen in police crime drama – Batla House released in 2019.
Kranti Prakash Jha was born in 1985 as the son of a bureaucrat, posted as RDDE at Purnia. For the same reason, his early days were spent in Purnia where he completed his schooling. Ratauli of Begusarai in Bihar is his hometown. His father desired to see him as an IPS officer. Kranti also started preparing for UPSC exams. However his passion towards acting prompted him to pursue a career in this field.
He started his professional career as a model, appeared in print ads, TV ads as well as music videos, before joining regional movies in 2011. He played lead/parallel lead in Deswa (2011), Once Upon a Time in Bihar (2015) and Mithila Makhaan (2017) in award winning Bhojpuri and Maithili language films. He also played supporting roles in TV shows such as Stories by Rabindranath Tagore, and was roped in to play the lead role of Baba Ramdev in Swami Ramdev – Ek Sangharsh, produced by Ajay Devgan.
