Anju Joseph – Malayalam Playback Singer of ‘Idea Star Singer Season 4’ fame

Anju Joseph is a Malayalam Playback Singer, and she also owns a capella band, Reflections, with a group of friends. Cover version of Nee Korinal, Idhu Vare, Dheevara etc are some of the popular songs released under this band. Without the aid of any musical instrument, the band creates wonders with tunes. Nannaavoola from 2011 film Doctor Love marked her playback singing, and later she rendered her voice for Ethetho Swapnamo of Avarude Raavukal, Ariyathe Ente Jeevanil of Ormakalil Oru Manjukaalam, Kalakaanchi of Varikkuzhiyile Kolapathakam, Poovakum Neeyen of Almara etc. She has participated in numerous singing talent hunt shows of Malayalam television through which she came to prominence.

Anju Joseph was born in Kanjirapally in 1990. Since young she has participated in singing reality shows of television. She received her first achievement through Gandharva Sangeetham Junior on Kairali TV, where she finished third, followed by a reality show on Jeevan TV. She got her major break after she became 3rd runner-up of Idea Star Singer Season 4. Since then she has been a performer on stage, apart for singing for albums as well as cover versions.

Anju Joseph – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. Her cover version of Telugu song Dheewara was an instant hit. It gave her opportunity to perform on stage for Cinemaa Awards in 2017.

2. She has hosted a musical quiz show on Janam TV.

3. She started 15-member band ‘Reflections’ after her marriage, and it was her husband Anoop John who encouraged her to experiment with music.

4. Dheevara from Baahubali — The Beginning was the first released song of the band, which went viral. The song was recorded without the support of any musical instrument, which made it distinct.
