Hanuman Beniwal – Three-term MLA and Parliamentarian from Rajasthan

Hanuman Beniwal is an Indian politician from the state of Rajasthan. He has formerly served as the President of the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. In 2019 general elections, he got elected to Lok Sabha from Nagaur constituency of Rajasthan, representing Rashtriya Loktantrik Party. An influential leader of state politics he has been serving as MLA of Rajasthan representing Khinvsar since 2008. He resigned his third term as MLA to join parliament for his debut innings. Leader of Rashtriya Loktantrik Party in Rajasthan, his party formed alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party for 2019 general elections and became a trump card for the national party. He was formerly associated with BJP till 2013.

Hanuman Beniwal was born in Nagaur, Rajasthan in 1972. Barangaon is his native village. As a political leader of Bharatiya Janata Party, he came to prominence in the second half of 2000s. He got elected to state assembly for the first time from Khinvsar in 2008 and retained the seat in 2013 and 2018 elections as well, thus being elected to state assembly successively for three terms. He was suspended from BJP after he accused his fellow politicians for corruptions and openly expressed in public. He launched Rashtriya Loktantrik Party with an election symbol of “Bottle” and also got huge support within a short period. As a leader of Rashtriya Loktantrik Party from Rajasthan, he joined Lok Sabha on 23 May 2019.

Hanuman Beniwal – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. An influential leader of Jat community of Rajasthan, his leadership won 2019 elections in Nagaur, which was considered to be a Congress constituency earlier.

2. He is also known to be a farmers’ leader.

3. For the first two terms as MLA, he represented BJP and for the third term as leader of Rashtriya Loktantrik Party.

4. In 2019 elections, BJP left Nagaur seat for Hanuman Beniwal, following the alliance.

5. He emerged as the new political star with 2019 elections after defeating Dr. Jyoti Mirdha of Indian National Congress by a majority of 1,81, 260 votes.

6. In 2013 state assembly elections following his expulsion from the party, he won as an independent candidate. 

7. He owns a rare feat of electing as a legislator for three consecutive terms, representing three different political affiliations – First term as BJP candidate, second term as independent and third term as Rashtriya Loktantrik Party candidate.
