Kothamara Thoran (Cluster Beans Thoran)
Ingredients for Kothamara Thoran (Cluster Beans Thoran):
1. Cluster beans (Kothamara) – ½ kg
2. Coconut oil – 3 small spoons
3. Mustard – ½ small spoon
Red chilli – 1
Curry leaves – As needed
4. Onions – 1 small, chopped fine
Green chillies – 2, chopped fine
5. Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon
Chilli powder – ¼ small spoon
6. Salt and water – As needed
7. Coconut – ¼, scrapped
How to prepare Kothamara Thoran (Cluster Beans Thoran)?
1. Cut cluster beans into ¾ inch pieces.
2. Heat oil in a pan and add sauté ingredients no: 3.
3. Add onions and green chillies and sauté again
4. When it is half done, add chilli powder and turmeric powder and mix well.
5. Add cluster beans, salt and sufficient water.
6. Cook it for next 15-20 minutes with lid closed.
7. When it is done, add scrapped coconut and stir continuously for three minutes.
