Riya Saira – Malayalam film actress and dubbing artist

Riya Saira is a film actress of Malayalam cinema, who mostly plays supporting roles. 22 Female Kottayam in 2012 marked her film debut, where she played the pivot role of Tissa K. Abraham. Thevram, Chapters, Oru Indian Pranayakatha, Arikil Oraal, Shutter, Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi, Mili, Law Point, Kumbalangi Nights etc are some of her major releases. In 2015 she appeared in one short film, Ambulance sharing screen space with Kalabhavan Mani. She received best actress award at PJ Antony Awards and Karnataka Festlin Fest for her appearance in short film.

Riya Saira was born in 1992. She received a major break to films through two critically acclaimed and commercially successful films, 22 Female Kottayam and Shutter. 22 Female Kottayam was her first theatre release, and she played Rima Kallingal’s younger sister’s role. Shutter which happened to be Joy Mathew’s directorial debut was her first signed film. But when the film got delayed, 22 Female Kottayam, Thevram and Chapters got released. She played the pivot role of Lal’s daughter in Shutter. She keeps a momentum between her acting and dubbing career.

Riya Saira – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. Though 22 Female Kottayam was her first theatre release, Shutter was her first signed film. In fact Aashiq Babu spotted her at the film sets of Shutter.

2. Both Riya and her mother Saira are dubbing artists.

3. She dubbed for Namitha Pramod in fisherwoman slang in 2012 film, Puthiya Theerangal and also Sound Thoma. North 24 Kaatham for Swathy Reddy, Second Show for Gauthami Nair etc are a few more.

4. She started her dubbing career during her graduation days.
