Finally Hema Malini’s Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi Movie got a release

It has been a long time since we watched Dream Girl Hema Malini and Vinod Khanna on big screen, and for their fans, it’s big news. After being held for long 7 years, the movie finally gets a theatric release. Hema plays Vijaya Raja Scindia in this biopic and Vinod Khanna plays her husband. The duo has shared screen space in several movies in the 1970s and 1980s, Rihaee, Meera and Pathar Aur Payal to name a few. Fund problem is one among the reasons for the delayed release of the movie, originally completed in 2010.

Movie is an adapted script of ‘Rajpath Se Lokpath Par’, a book written by Goa Governor Mridula Sinha and directed by Gul Bahar Singh. Hema plays a woman in search of her identity beyond her lineage in this biopic, and Vinod Khanna her husband. She has earlier played a royal princess role in Razia Sultan, helmed by the ace director Kamal Amrohi. Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi was screened earlier at Siri Fort Auditorium in Delhi, and attended by members of royal family.  Though Hema was a bit tensed over the response of royal family members, she got relieved after she received positive opinion. She feels honoured to give life to Rajmata on big screen.

With a strong social message, Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi has been made tax-free in Chattisgarh by state government. It gives inspiration to women to achieve what they dreams of, if they have strong determination. Vinod Khanna couldn’t attend the screening of the movie at Delhi, and Hema Malini wished his speed recovery. We are eagerly waiting to see Dream Girl as Rajmatha of Gwalior on big screen. Wishing both the lead actors all the very best for their new release.
