Chemmeen Chukka

Ingredients for Chemmeen Chukka:

1. Prawns -1/2 kg

2. Chilli powder – 1 small spoon

    Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon

    Salt – As required

3. Coconut oil – For frying

4. Onions – ½ kg sliced

    Tomato – big 3, sliced

    Ginger – 1 piece crushed

    Garlic – 1 piece crushed

    Coriander leaves – 1 stem

    Mint leaves – 2 stems

    Curry leaves – 10 stems

    Green chillies – 5, split into two

5. Red chilli powder – 2 big spoons

    Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon

How to prepare Chemmeen Chukka?

1. Clean prawns and  and remove its waste. Wash well.

2. Marinate prawns with ingredients no: 2.

3. Allow it to rest for half an hour.

4. Heat oil in a pan and fry prawns. You need to half-cook only.

5. Drain prawns from oil.

6. In the remaining oil, sauté ingredients no: 4 till onions turn golden brown colour.

7. Add ingredients no: 5 to it and mix well.

8. Add half-cooked prawns to it, mix well and cook in low flame with lid closed.

Note: You can also add scrapped coconut to this prawn dish to make it tastier.
