70+ Popular Music Videos Starring Bollywood Stars – Part 2

Note: As the article on Indipop is bit lengthy, and images may take more time to load, I have divided the article into three parts. You can go through the links to read the article in full – Part 1 & Part 3 I have added images to all songs, so that a kid of 1990s or 2000s can easily recollect these songs from memory. Most of these songs are nostalgic to me as well. Please leave your comments, and if I have missed any name, let me know please. 26. Indhana Winva – Many leading models of 1990s and 2000s have worked in Phalguni Pathak’s music videos, and most of them have later earned recognition through Bollywood or TV soaps. Mohammed Iqbal Khan is one similar face, who gained recognition through small screen. He appeared in a few Bollywood movies like Fun2shh… Dudes in the 10th Century, and disappeared very soon.

27. Yeh Kisne Jadoo Kiya – Similarly television actress Aamna Sharif appeared in Phalguni Pathak’s Yeh Kisne Jadoo Kiya. She appeared in one Bollywood film, Aloo Chat, and later moved to small screen. She played a brief role of Ritesh Deshmukh’s wife in Ek Villain.

28. Pal Pal Teri Yaad Sathaaye – Priyanshu Chatterjee and Sandali Sinha were featured in this popular song of year 2000 sung by Phalguni Pathak. They were models that time, who very soon made their Bollywood debut. Priyanshu Chatterjee is more successful in television than Bollywood films. Kahaani is one of his memorable film roles where he played a negative character.

29. Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi – The title track from the album, featured Riya Sen & Richa Pallod. This music video of Phalguni Pathak played a significant role in grooming the Bollywood career of both these models.

30. Aiyo Rama Haath Sey – This year-2000 song of Phalguni Pathak starred Divya Khosla Kumar, who later went on to become a successful film director. The song was featured in the album, Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye.  She later appeared in the music videos, Zid Na Karo (2003) and Kabhi Yaadon Mein Aaun (2017), and starred in one Bollywood film, opposite Akshay Kumar. Television actress, Sriti Jha in O Piya, Gurdeep Kohli in Haire Mere Hui Gulabi and Rubina Dilaik in Doli Doli also need mention. Shahid Kapoor was also featured in Doli Doli.

31. Piya Se Milke Aaye Nain – The title track of Hema Sardesai’s Piya Se Milke Aaye was released in 1999, and it brought the model Richa Pallod to limelight. She was only a model then. Samir Soni was also featured in this song, who later went on to become a popular television star. Rajinder Kachroo and Bhupi Chawla are the co-singers of this top dance number. Jawahar Wattal composed the song and Sameer wrote the lyrics.

32. Ghar Aaja Soniya – Yet another popular song of year 2000 featuring Samir Soni who was a hot model then. The female model in the song is none other than Kajol and Rani’s cousin, Sharbani Mukherjee, who has already made her Bollywood debut through ‘Border’ in 1997. She later moved to regional cinema. This song was sung by Pakistani singer, Shazia Mansoor. Actually this music video is a revived version of her chartbuster hit released earlier.

33. Piya Re Piya Re – Sharbani Mukherjee was later seen in the popular music video sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Piya Re Piya Re. Parvin Dabas featured aside her. He was later seen in a few Bollywood movies. Lyrics of Piya Re Piya Re were penned by Hassan Rizwi.

34. Likhde Mehndi Se – After Prem Agan became a terrible flop, its lead heroine Meghna Kothari was seen in this popular music video released in year 2000. Anuradha Paudwal’s album – Ishq Hua was an instant chartbuster.

35. Choodi Bhi Zid Pe Aayi Hai – Second popular song of Anuradha Paudwal’s album – Ishq Hua, this particular romantic dance track was also an instant chartbuster. The song featured popular model, Kahkashan Patel aside Aamir Ali Malik. Veteran actor Anil Dhawan was also seen in this song. Aamir Ali later went on to become a popular television star, and was also seen in Imran Khan-Sonam Kapoor starrer, I Hate Love Stories and a couple of more movies. Kahkashan Patel was a top model of late 1990s, and she was seen in Bollywood film, Kambakkht Ishq as Kareena’s sister.

36. Chhuimui Si Tum Lagti Ho – It was a romantic anthem of late 1990s starring Preeti Jhangiani & Abbas. Abbas was already a star down south and Preeti, a rising model. The album Yeh Hai Prem contains a series of love songs, and they were pictured as a sequence of incidents, from blooming romance to marriage, and the music videos were well appreciated. Milind Ingle composed and sang its popular songs, and was featured in them too. The music videos were directed by Kunal Kohli. “Yeh Hai Prem”, “Kudi Jach Gayi” and “O Priya” are other popular music videos. Actress Sudha Chandran was also seen in Chhuimui Si Tum Lagti Ho.

37. Yaro Sab Dua Karo & Jogiya Khalli Balli – Kahkashan Patel and Jus Arora were featured in this popular Qawwali sung by Ram Shankar. The song was immensely popular. Kahkashan Patel was also featured in the popular music video of Ila Arun, Resham Ka Hai Kurta Mera and Hans Raj Hans’ Yeh jo sili sili aandi hai (2000). Bhupi’s Jogiya Khalli Balli is yet another Punjabi number featuring Kahkashan Patel.

38. Munda Tu Hai Punjabi Sona – Jaspinder Narula’s Punjabi album, Kuch Kuch Dil Mein had one very popular song, Munda Tu Hai Punjabi Sona. The album was composed by Sanjeev Shrivastav, got released in 1998 and was an instant hit. The song featured Kiran Rathod, who later achieved success down South. She played second lead opposite Hrithik Roshan in 2001 movie, Yaadein, and appeared in the song, “Chamakti Shyam Hai“.

39. Woh Pyar Mera – This particular track is indeed very beautiful, yet not very popular similar to Alisha Chinai’s previous hits. It was one of the first screen appearances of Amrita Rao, who later achieved success through a few memorable roles in Bollywood.

40. Kehna To Hai – This super melodious romantic track of Kumar Sanu featured Shahid Kapoor and Nauheed Cyrusi. It’s absolutely delightful to hear Kumar Sanu singing to soft melodies. The album was titled Kehna To Hai, and Shahid Kapoor and Nauheed Cyrusi were featured in the title track. Alka Yagnik’s humming voice can be heard in this song.

41. Jaane Kyon Mein – Sonu Nigam’s Jaan was an instant chartbuster in 2000, and it featured many popular models of that time. Diya Mirza was featured in this romantic track aside Sonu Nigam, before she made her Bollywood debut. She also appeared Sonu in the remixed version of ‘Kajra Mohabbatwala‘ song later.

42. Humein Tumse Pyar Hai Kaise Kahe – Vivan Bhatena got instant success through Phalguni Patak’s Maine Payal Hain Chankaayi. He was also seen in this sad track featured in Sonu Nigam’s Yaad released in 2001. I am not sure about the female model in this song, I think she appeared in a few television soaps. In fact this music video was a medley of three songs – Humein Tumse Pyar Hai Kaise Kahe, Kuch Hua Aur Kuch and Mere Siva. Sonu Nigam sizzles in the romantic tracks of Yaad, and it was a continuation to his successful albums, Deewana and Jaan.  

43. Deewane Hoke Hum Milne Lage Sanam – This popular track was featured in Sonu Nigam’s Jaan, and the song featured Himanshu Malik and Sandali Sinha. Later they worked together in Bollywood musical – Tum Bin. All the songs of the album were heart touching and were enough to place him among the list of well-established pop stars of that time. Sandali Sinha was earlier featured in the medley of songs – Kon Hai Wo Ladki, Kuch Tum Socho and Deewana Kiya Hai teri Yadom Ne for Sonu Nigam’s Deewana.

44. Kuch Tum SochoYet another soft track belonging to Sonu Nigam. The song belongs to Sonu’s Deewana, and featured the popular models, Himanshu Malik and Gul Panag. When whole pop artists of 1990s tried to concentrate on to fast beats, Sonu stick on to soft melodious tunes and that’s why he stood among the odd.

45. Chanda Ki Doli – The title track of Sonu Nigam’s Chanda Ki Doli was an instant chartbuster. Sonu turned a music director with this album released in 2005. Nisha Rawal played the female lead in this music video. She is a known model, a television actress and had a brief stint in Bollywood as well.

46. Lift Karade – Adnan Sami’s Lift Karade song was an instant hit, and Govinda was seen dancing along with him dancing in its music video. After the music video became an instant hit, he worked with many popular actors of Bollywood, most preferably heroines.

47. Kabhi Nahi – Adnan Sami’s Tera Chehra featured many Bollywood artists. I think it’s for the first time, Amitabh Bachchan worked with a guest artist for a music video.

48. Aafreen Aafreen – This popular song composed and sung by legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan featured Lisa Ray, who later worked in Bollywood movies like Kasoor. Lisa was a hot model in the late 1990s.

49. Kabhi Aana Tu Meri Gali – Dr. Palash Sen with his Euphoria band has given many popular and awesome tunes in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In fact this particular song gave the real break to Vidya Balan who has been stuck with bad luck for many years with delayed projects. Pradeep Sarkar who directed this video gave her the first Bollywood break through Parineeta, and as they say, ‘Rest is history!’ Neha Dhupia in “Sha Na” is yet another popular actress who got her first break through Palash’s music videos. She got this break before she became Miss India. Dhoom was the first album released by Palash’s Euphoria, which was a smash hit.

50. Maerii – Euphoria’s Maerii song gave the first break to actress Rimi Sen, who later sizzled onscreen in Dhoom aside Abhishek Bachchan. The music video is indeed fabulous, Palash Sen’s voice too.

    People especially Youngsters of those days were lucky to enjoy these songs.the new generation is deprived of good movies and songs.thanks for taking me to those days.if your writing is seen by many Indians other than Keralites it will be boon to them.i think you should write once a week or month..so that we can get to see this in full before getting new blog.
