Latest saree designs and fashion trends in Kerala right now

Fashion trends happen in eye-blink moments. It’s applicable both for modern attire as well as traditional saree or churidar. Same is happening in Saree fashion trends, where experiments are going on in colour, material and designs. Currently saree is chosen according to the attitude, and the occasion to wear it. To express through attire, ‘I am bold and beautiful’, chose a saree just opposite to normal traditional sarees.

Trends keep changing in local regions too, and it differs from district to district. Same is the taste of ladies too, who love to travel with new trends. In Malabar regions, Paithani, Ikkath, Chambalpuri and Jimikki Kammal sarees trend right now, while in mid-Kerala, linen, Dupion silk and Kanjeepuram silk sarees with prints of elephants and horses are more popular. In mid-Travancore regions, with royal getup, organza and tussar silk dominate among all variants.

In Ernakulam-Kottayam regions, net and organza handwork sarees are high in demand. This trend is now seen in Thrissur as well. Silk, semi-silk, embroidery and ribbon work in organza…. Individual tastes may be different. Handwork silk sarees and cotton block printed sarees are also in spotlight. More than fashion, colour trends are more attractive in these regions, and while choosing saree, it’s given great importance and priority.

Catchy colours are quite popular. Pastal shades of Laguna green, macron pink, peach, bright marigold, butterscotch and lemon yellow are the stars of textile market right now in these regions. All these colours give a positive effect. Tastes of mid-aged people have also changed in the recent times, and their minds too stick on to bright shades. Certain textiles provide customized designs for their trusted customers as per demand.

Sarees should create a festival mood, that’s Thrissur trend shows right now. Linen saree is popular among ladies right now. Pictures of bride and groom printed in the wedding saree are trending right now. If photo of bride and groom is given 45 days prior to the wedding eve, beautiful sarees can be woven with their pictures. Such sarees cost 45,000 Indian rupees or more. In bridal wear, Banaras and Kanjeepuram sarees have not lost their dominance anywhere in India, particularly in traditional Hindu weddings. Stone work, cut work and self-print designs can be incorporated in such traditional bridal wears. Price starts with 25,000 Indian rupees onwards. Orange, peach, chilli red and golden colours are high in demand.

In party wear trends, high demanding sarees include – embroidery, patch work and bead work. Jute sarees with cut work, half sarees etc are now used as party wears. Thread work, mirror work or bead work in chifley net fabric can also be added to latest trends. In casual wear, designer sarees and printed blouse combo can be experimented by all age groups. You can shine in get-together parties in this attire.

Pochampally silk, Cotton Kalamkari saree with blouse, Chanderi silk – you can choose any saree suiting the occasion. Light or heavy border saris are chosen most right now. New generation girls are attracted towards light border saris most. Heavy work blouse can be used with such saris of simple borders. Antique or pearl work can be chosen for embroidery blouses. Gadwall, cotton silk, crape, georgette etc have their own space in casual wear. Creative people prefer to buy running material, and do embroidery designs of their own.
