Banana Puri

Banana Puri & Mushroom Masala

Ingredients for Banana Puri:

1. Maida – 1.25 cups

2. Kerala banana (Ethapazham) – 1

3. Curd – 4 table spoons

4. Sugar – 2 table spoons

5. Baking soda – ¼ tsp

6. Oil – 2 tsp

7. Cumin seeds – ½ tsp

8. Cardamom powder – 1/4tsp

9. Salt – For taste

10. Oil – For deep frying

How to prepare Banana Puri?

1. Cut banana into pieces.

2. Add sugar to banana pieces and make a fine paste using a mixer.

3. Take maida, salt, cumin, baking soda and cardamom powder in a bowl.

4. Add curd and banana paste and mix it well.

5. If you need, you can add 1 tsp curd also.

6. Knead the dough and allow to it rest for minimum 4-12 hours.

7. Make small balls and spread thick puris (than normal pooris).

8. Deep fry puris in hot oil. Puris should turn golden brown colour.
