Tarun Arora – Film actor of ‘Jab We Met’ fame

Tarun Arora is a film actor who works in Bollywood as well as south Indian film industry. He mostly plays negative roles in south Indian films, and his role in 2016 Tamil film Kanithan was well received. Like many model turned baddies who worked in both Bollywood and south Indian films, he also succeeded in this avatar. Vidyut Jamwal, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Rahul Dev are a few more actors belonging to this league. He was one among those models who marked Bollywood debut with 1999 campus oriented film, Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. Noted model-actress Anjala Zaveri is his spouse.

Tarun got into modeling industry in the 1990s while doing his hotel management studies in Delhi. After winning Gladrags Manhunt in 1998 very soon he turned one of the most sought models of late 1990s. Apart from appearing in many ramp walks and TV ads, he also featured in a few music videos. He played a brief role in Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi marking his Bollywood debut. Since then he mostly played supporting roles onscreen and also appeared in a series of low-budget films which went unnoticed. He also played his first lead role through Hawas in 2004. Despite playing numerous roles, he got initial recognition playing the pivot role of Anshuman – Kareena Kapoor’s crush in Jab We Met. The film was a huge hit, yet his career failed to take off. He later succeeded as an actor in south Indian films.

1. Tarun is of Assamese origin.

2. At 6 feet height, Tarun remained a very successful model in the second half of 1990s, and has modeled for Raymond, Westside, McDowell’s whiskey, Kwality Walls and LG. He was a ramp model and also appeared in TV ads.

3. During his active years as a model, his casual yet stylish walk made him one model who stands out.

4. He was seen in Emami shaving cream alongside well known model Lisa Ray.

5. Tarun is a successful restaurateur who runs “Tandoori Hippie” and lounge “Love Shack” in Bangalore.

6. He is best known for playing negative roles in Tamil cinema.

7. In 2019 he marked his Malayalam debut with big budget Mammootty starrer, Mamangam. He played the negative role of Zamar Koya (who is murdered by Mammootty) in the movie.
