Nidhi Bisht – Hindi actress and casting director associated with ‘The Viral Fever’

Nidhi Bisht is a lawyer-turned-actress, who has been a part of several Hindi web series since 2013 and also a few films. She is also a casting director, who works with the YouTube channel, The Viral Fever since 2013. In 2019 she came to limelight playing the executive and lesbian character Roma who hates men, in the comedy blockbuster Dream Girl. She was earlier seen in Bollywood films – Umrika, Phillauri etc. She has written, directed and acted in several viral online videos of TVF such as The Making Of Breaking News and Maa Ke Haath Ki Cigarette.

After taking LLB from Jamia Millia Islamia, Nidhi Bisht started practising as a lawyer under Singh and Singh Associates. She practised in Delhi High Court more than a year, before she called it quit. She completely switched over to the world of entertainment and acting and joined The Viral Fever in 2013. She handled different roles such as assistant director, director, casting director and actress for The Viral Fever. She was first seen in the web series, Chai Sutta Chronicles in 2013, followed by Bisht, Please, TVF Tripling, Immature, Bachelors, Permanent Roommates etc. In 2017 she turned a director with the web series, PA-Gals. In 2018 she acted in the short film, Kanika. She now dreams to create a female version of Dil Chahta Hai movie.

Nidhi Bisht – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. She has faced so many rejections in film auditions for not representing stereotype leading lady. Her round face was one among the reasons for rejection, during her struggling days.

2. During childhood days her brother used to impersonate Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha, and she started copying her brother. That’s her introduction to acting.

3. She played lead role of Neetu Bisht in the series, Bisht, Please!

4. She worked as casting director of TVF Pitchers in 2015.

5. She is the only non-IIT graduate in India’s most prominent production house for web content – The Viral Fever and is known to be a creative genius of the group.

6. She did theatre for a brief period around 2008 with Indian People’s Theatre Association, and the movie ‘Rock On!’ inspired her to pursue acting professionally.
