Malayalis’ Dulquer Salman all set for Bollywood debut

It is not the first time, star actors of Malayalam tried their luck in Bollywood, and only a few stars actually succeeded. Prithviraj made a notable performance in ‘Aurengazab’ for which he received praises and audiences alike, and this year, he was seen in an entirely different look in ‘Naam Shabana’ where he portrayed the antagonist.

Now it’s Dulquer’s turn. He is very familiar to North Indians after the release of ‘Ok Jaanu’, where he played the lead hero in the original ‘Ok Kanmani’ directed by veteran Maniratnam. Many north Indians have also watched the Tamil version.

Dream debut of Dulquer Salman in Bollywood sharing screen space with multi-talented Irrfan Khan

The untitled film is being directed by debutante, Akarsh Khurana and will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The story is written by actor Hussain Dalal, who has earlier written the dialogues of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and 2 States. Mithila Palkar is playing the female lead opposite Dulquer Salman. Mithali is best known for the web series ‘Girl in the City’ and ‘Little Things’, and she also played Imran Khan’s sister in Katti Batti. As per reports, Mithali is not playing Dulquer’s love interest, and Dulquer and Irffan feature as friends on a road trip.

The lead role was earlier offered to Abhishek Bachchan. But due to date clashes, he couldn’t commit. Dulquer Salman, the son of megastar Mammootty is already a star in Malayalam cinema, and has a huge following crowd. Ustad Hotel, Bangalore Days, Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, Jnan, Kammatipaadam and Charlie are among his most popular and critically acclaimed Malayalam roles.

In May 2017, a daughter was born to Dulquer Salman, and fans celebrated the occasion in a grand fashion. Now let us see if the baby angel brings him luck in his professional career, and Dulquer conquers Bollywood fans with his charms and killing smile.

Conclusion

Earlier, though south Indian beauties have been warmly welcomed by Bollywood audience, it never happened with male stars, with Madhavan being the only exception who has received a pan appeal. But after the huge success of Baahubali series, Prabas received a huge fan following crowd among North Indians. Now let us wait if Dulquer too will be accepted by Bollywood fans. All the very best, Dulquer.
