Anna Rajan – Actress who essayed Lichi in Angamaly Diaries

Anna Rajan is a Malayalam film actress who shot to fame playing the lead role in Angamaly Diaries (2017) directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. She is a nurse by profession who had an accidental entry to cine world. She also played female lead in Mohanlal starrer Velipadinte Pusthakam and Jayaram starrer Lonappante Mamodeesa. She played Prithviraj’s wife in Ayyappanum Koshiyum. Madhura Raja and Sachin are her upcoming releases.

Her full name is Anna Reshma Rajan and she hails from Aluva. She worked as a nurse in Rajagiri Hospital in Kochi before she was selected for an important role in the hit and critically acclaimed film, Angamaly Diaries. She was planning to do her nursing job abroad and settle with family life when she bagged her first film role. She was one among the many whose faces appeared in a hoarding all over Kerala and the director Lijo Jose Pellissery felt that she is the right person to play Lily David (Lichi) – one of three female leads onscreen. She was called for the audition and it was a life changing moment for Anna. Her debut movie got noticed and she got many offers to play lead opposite Mohanlal, Jayaram etc.

1. A nurse by profession, she was almost decided to settle abroad with family life when she was called for the auditions for the lead role of Angamaly Diaries.

2. She has been trolled by social media when she reportedly said that she would want Dulquer Salman to be the hero, while Mammootty could play her on-screen father.

3. The director of Angamaly Diaries had to make so many attempts to find Anna from a hoarding appeared all over Kerala.

4. Her debut flick also featured 86 newcomers introduced to the silver screen.

5. She appeared as a nurse for her debut flick, a co-incidence.
