Beef Ularth

Ingredients for Beef Ularth:

1. Beef – 1 kg

2. Onion – 1 big, chopped

    Ginger – 2-inch piece, chopped

    Green chillies – 4, chopped

    Chilli powder – 2.5-3 small spoons

    Coriander powder – 2 big spoons

    Turmeric powder – 1.5 small spoons

    Coconut oil – 2 big spoons

    Curry leaves and salt – For preparation

3. Coconut scrapped – ½ cup

    Coconut oil – 1 big spoon

    Shallots chopped – 1 big spoon

    Garlic chopped – 1 big spoon

    Ginger chopped – 1 small spoon

    Fennel seeds – 1 small spoon

    Pepper powder – ½ small spoon

    Cardamom – 4

    Cloves – 5

    Cinnamon – 1 small piece

    White couscous – 1 small spoon

    Curry leaves – A little

4. Coconut oil – 2 big spoons

5. Shallots – 3 big spoons, chopped

    Curry leaves – A little

How to prepare Beef Ularth?

1. Cut beef to small square pieces.

2. Transfer all the ingredients listed as 2 to a big bowl, and using your hands mix well.

3. Add beef to it, mix well and cook it in pressure cooker adding a little water.

4. Roast ingredients no: 3 till golden brown in a thick bottomed pan. Put the flame off.

5. Once this coconut mixture cools off, powder it.

6. Heat oil in an urli and fry shallots and curry leaves.

7. When it turns reddish brown, add the prepared coconut powder.

8. Add cooked beef pieces too and fry in low flame till water content is fully absorbed.

9. Stir occasionally till it turns golden brown.
