Measurement Cups and Spoons & Conversion Chart for Cooking

Every person who enjoy cooking would love to try some recipes from magazines, recipe books etc. Very often you might be confused with the measuring cups, spoons and correct measurements. Which type of cup – big or small? 1 big spoon equals to how many millis? You can get best results of recipes only if measurements are perfect.

1 big spoon is equal is equal to three small spoons. It is equivalent to 15 milli litre. 1/4 cup, 4 big spoons and 12 small spoons give the same quantity of ingredients. This measurement is equivalent to 60 milli litre. To get half cup quantity, use 8 big spoons or 24 small spoons. It is equivalent to 120 milli litre as well.

To calculate 3/4 cup, use 12 big spoons or 36 small spoons, which is equivalent to 180 milli litre. 1 cup is equivalent to  16 big spoons or 48 small spoons. 240 milli litre is equivalent to 1 cup. Here I provide an easy chart for you.

1 cup = 16 big spoons = 48 small spoons = 240 milli = 140 gm

¾ cup = 12 big spoons = 36 small spoons = 180 milli = 105 gm

2/3 cup = 11 big spoons = 32 small spoons = 160 milli

½ cup = 8 big spoons = 24 small spoons = 120 milli = 70 gm

1/3 cup = 5 big spoons = 16 small spoons = 80 milli

¼ cup = 4 big spoons = 12 small spoons = 60 milli = 35 gm

1 big spoon (table spoon) = 15 milli

1 small spoon (tea spoon) = 5 milli

1 cup butter = 230 gm

1/2 cup butter = 115 gm

1 cup heavy cream =235 gm

3/4 cup heavy cream = 175 gm

1/2 cup heavy cream = 115 gm

1/4 cup heavy cream =60 gm

1 big spoon heavy cream = 15 gm
