A few tips how to use old saris
Very often your saris rest in wardrobe for a long time, and when they turn old, you may throw them way. But do you know, old sari offers some multi-purposes, can also be changed to skirts, churidar tops or shawls or even curtain? Let me give you a few more tips, how to make use of old saris.
Skirt and top from sari – You can stitch beautiful skirts and tops from saris. Pallu can be used for top, and sari body with border can be used for skirt. You can also stitch sleeveless bestiar tops using sari’s pallu. You can buy single colour shrug matching with the stuff and use along with sleeveless top.
Kaftans and Churidar tops – Saris can be easily changed to Kaftans. Kurtis and short tops are next alternatives. An anarchali churidar can be stitched by using pallu as yoke.
Indo-western gowns and jackets – You can also stitch nigh dress and Indo-western gowns from your old saris. Pallus can also be used to stitch attractive jackets. Plain saris with simple designs can be used for such attractive jackets.
Borders for other dress – If the sari is damaged and can’t be used for above purposes, you can cut borders and make them useful when you stitch churidars, kurtis etc the next time. You can also stitch attractive pillow covers and curtains using old saris.
