Chammanthi podi


 Ingredients -1

  1. Black gram (after black skin removed) (Uzhunnu paripp) – 100 gm
  2. Coriander – 50 gm
  3. Chillies – 50 gm
  4. Horse gram (muthira) – 25 gm
  5. Asafetida – 10 gm
  6. Curry leaves – 2 stem

Ingredients – 2

  1. Coconut scrapped – 2
  2. Tamarind – 50 gm
  3. Jaggery – 50 gm
  4. Salt – as needed

How to prepare Chammanthipodi

  1. Fry all ingredients together grouped under category 1. Then grind it without adding water.
  2. Fry coconut without adding oil.
  3. Crush all the ingredients together using a stone ural. Avoid mixer to get a traditional taste.
